This workshop trains and certifies yoga teachers in a set posture sequence specifically designed to be non-threatening yet help rid the body and mind of fear and anxiety held after trauma. However; only 3 of the 20-hour training are spent moving on our mats and those are optional and may be spent in observation. This opens the training up to a wider audience of helpers, such as caregivers at home and professionals, that would include psychotherapist, health care workers, drug recovery workers, school teachers, and those seeking to heal themselves.
The workshop offers techniques that can be used on and off the mat, such as, mindfulness, self-regulation, breath, affirmations, meditation, visualization, aromatherapy and much more that can be used to care for oneself or within talk therapy/counseling sessions (private and group) with adults, children in situations for physical or behavioral fitness, to TBI rehab and even in hospice. Trainees will walk away with new tools and the knowledge of the science behind those tools.
Our co-trainer, Nicole Anders Psy.D. with the Veterans Administration and a certified yoga teacher, presents on PTSD, how it occurs, is diagnosed, and exist in our body long after the shock is over then covers why our techniques help us to bring our body back into balance. Darwin Bosen facilitates a guided discussions on how to cope with compassion fatigue and the effects of A.C.E. adverse childhood experiences and how they, without our permission or knowledge, may form our present decisions along with how our method can set us free from this past.
T.R.Y. will travel to bring our training where we are invited. T.R.Y. is currently based in Las Vegas NV and holds training here regularly, where people come from all over the world to attend.
